Agriculture Courses

Meet the Teachers

Agriculture Pathways

The carrer technical education pathways are academic programs that teaches students hands on skills that they can carry with them throughout their professional careers. The courses taken are required to be taken in sequence. Students that complete a pathway get a special cord to wear at graduation. 

Animal Science

- Intro to Animal Science
-Small Animal Care and Management
- Veterinary Science

​This pathway is designed to cover both large and small animal care and practices, animal anatomy and veterinary medicine. 

​

Welding

- Welding 1/2/3



​This pathway covers basic welding processes and fabrication skills and allows the student to  build projects. 
​​

Ornamental Horticulture

Cad- Ornamental Horticulture
- Greenhouse Management
​- Landscaping

This pathway is designed to teach students basic knowledge of plants and landscaping , learn in depth procedures of greenhouse production, and study plant identification and techniques.

Other Ag Classes

CAD 1/2/3

Computer Automated Drafting. Students learn about drafting floor plans and buildings and use these designs to create wood and metal projects. This is a great class to prepare for architectural and engineering careers. 

Floral Design

This fine art class teaches students the principles of art and floral design, and is designed to teach the principles of floral design, and allows them to create floral arrangements. 

Viticulture 

Viticulture is a college prep class that is designed to prepare student s for a future in the viticulture and winemaking industry. They will learn how to prune grapevines and how to properly layout and design a vineyard, basics into winemaking, and tour facilities.

Ag Leadership 

Agriculture Leadership serves as the behind the scenes class that helps run our FFA program. Students are involved in public speaking, committee work, community service, and SAE projects. Students also get to plan and carry out FFA meetings, develop speaking skills, participate in CDE and LDE events and work with FFA officers. This class does require a application. 

School Farm Management

Students will observe and solve problems to help run our school farm operation. This course includes upkeep of farm, repair work and teach leadership training instruction. 

Intro to Ag Mechanics

This class consists of two major units in wood and metal work and is the intro to our welding program. This course also covers units in electrical, plumbing, safety and concrete. The students also get the opportunity to build a project for themselves. 

Ag Biology

Agriculture Biology is the intro class for freshman. They learn and study life process of animals and how they survive in an environment, and learn basics in DNA and phenotype and genotypes. This class counts as a life science class.
